First to 5 wins (5 round matches) against Killyg’s (Richard) dirty Dictator!

October 14th, 2009

I both love this match up, and hate it at the same time.  Dictator is so fast and tricky at times, its disgusting.  And I often fall for his little frame traps that lead to either me being thrown or eating more combo.  Dictators crossup can be a little confusing at times as well.  His EX-headstomp is really tough as there’s a lot of risk in trying to beat it, because if you lose you take a huge amount of damage.  Rich plays his Dictator really fast, and can really put the pressure on and over whelm you at times.  He likes to make you guess, and plays a very smart dictator.  He’s also very difficult to throw.  Unfortunately we have to play with a 4 bar connection, so there are some lag problems and times where he’ll eat a fireball when he’s trying to focus dash through it.  I should of been able to close out a few of these games, but I just play dumb against him sometimes and it costs me. First to 5 wins against a 51,000 GP Ryu + 1 pity match

October 9th, 2009

Well, most people know that my Ryu vs Ryu match is pretty solid.  I have a fair idea of how to play the match, at least on the slightly above average level.  Well unfortunately, I ran into a pretty strong Ryu the other night, and challenged him to a first to 5 wins.  His Ryu is like no one I’ve ever played (Obviously Pros are better) and he just always seemed to be a step ahead of me, and kept guessing right. I think if I can play him more often, I will soon be able to pick up on his patterns, and not fall for a lot of his tricks.  His defense is solid, and it’s really difficult to get in. I think I was a bit too impatient and also kind of nervous (made a  lot of input errors) which cost me.

So for people like Kenny and Tom who are use to being on the losing end of Ryu vs Ryu against me, here’s my butt getting kicked :) Read the rest of this entry »

Boxer-A-Thon with Eso

October 7th, 2009

So the other night I got to play another session against my online friend Eso who has a great dirty boxer.  We’ve played many sessions in the past, but this is the first one that I’ve recorded.  Unfortunately we have a 4 bar match, so that causes us to drop links often, and you’ll notice he eats a lot of hadoken’s when he’s trying to focus dash through them, and we’ll both miss obvious techs.  Other than that, it’s a great session of adjustments, tick throwing, and frame traps.  Just wish we could play each other on lan :P Read the rest of this entry »

Abel/Gen Play Session and the journey to G1

September 8th, 2009

Well, I played one of my online “friends” in a small session a few days ago.  He picked Abel the first game, then switched back to his main, Gen.  At first I thought Gen was one of the hardest characters to fight against, and after playing tons of matches against Andrew’s Gen, I’ve grown comfortable enough that when I’m fighting him in random CE matches, I usually dominate them pretty well. Street Fighter IV: Ryu/Rog, Gen, Blanka Sessions

September 4th, 2009

Well last night I played numerous matches against 3 friends that I’ve met online.  I don’t really know these people in real life, but since they are around the same skill level as me and have decent enough connections, I end up playing them… Match Footage is included for the Blanka fight Read the rest of this entry »
